Investment Approach
UET is specialized in the acquisition of companies exposed to special situations. These are on the one hand medium-sized companies that have entered a situation of crisis due to liquidity issues, over-indebtedness, insufficient profitability, unresolved succession planning, or a combination of several factors, in most cases threatening the very survival of the enterprise. On the other hand we also acquire former subsidiaries that have moved out of the group’s strategic focus, so-called corporate carve-outs. Our cross-sector approach focuses on producing companies in industry and trade. UET acquires majority interests of up to 100% and we gladly let the company management take a share in equity.
Our investment does not merely call for capital which must often be supplied due to liquidity crises but to a particularly large extent for management support and entrepreneurial leadership, provided continuously to our holdings.
Our investment approach has a long-term view in order to enable sustainable business improvements for our holdings. Predefined exit dates that carry potential selling pressure as are common e.g. with closed funds do not exist for UET.
